Hello, I'm using SQL 2008 I have a xy scatter plot with x axis (category axis) percentages, scalar values 5%, 10%, 15%, 20 %. I also succesfully added a horizontal target value line on the Y-axis. I'm trying to add a vertical line for the target x-axis value, e.g. 14%. So I enabled minor grid lines on the x-axis, and i tried to make one line visible based on an visibility expression. But it's not working. Are there better ways to create a vertical target value line, or what am i doing wrong? regards, Hennie

Major gridline with interval e.g. 0.14 to the scatter chart 1.
Right-click the scatter chart area’s gridline and then select Major Gridline Properties… 2.
Set the value of Grid interval to 0.14 Line Width to 1pt line color to Black Note: This method is not a common
workaround but suit for your special requirement, it has some limitations: 1)you have to set the Line width to 1pt line color to Black, as the Y-Axis will have the same layout to this Major gridline. 2)The maximum of the value on X-Axis must be less than the interval*2, otherwise there will be more than one Major Gridline. Below picture is the report designed following the top method:
>>Method two: Drag a line
control to the scatter line directly. You could lay it at the place where you like, so it is very flexible. However, this method still have a limitation, the value on the X-Axis must be fixed, as the line’s location is fixed.
If you have any question, please feel free to ask. Regards, Challen Fu

large enough (20 months or more) and small enough (36 days or less) time spans, both work perfectly. However, whenever my date range is such that the Major gridlines take on an interval of one or two months, the Minor gridlines take on an interval in weeks. As a result, the minor gridlines don't "snap" to the major gridlines the way you're used
to seeing - they can't, because months don't divide evenly into weeks. The result is unattractive. I think the best remedy for me would be to hide the minor gridlines whenever the major gridlines have automatically selected an interval of one or two months. Is there a way to access this value in an expression? Then I could set the Visibility
property of the minor gridlines to "Show or hide" based on what the major gridlines were doing. I'd prefer to leave my intervals and interval types set to Auto if at all possible. I am also passing the From and To dates to the report as parameters, so I tried this expression for Visibility: =Not(
(DateDiff("d",Parameters!tReportRangeFrom.Value,Parameters!tReportRangeTo.Value) > 37)
or
(DateDiff("m",Parameters!tReportRangeFrom.Value,Parameters!tReportRangeTo.Value) > 19),
) ... but the gridlines seem to always be invisible, regardless of the date range I use. On a related note, it seems counterintuitive that the Help File for Visibility > Show or hide based on an expression reads: "Type an expression that evaluates to a Boolean value of True to hide the item or
False to show the item. " Any suggestions? Read more... Hi, I have a report that includes an XY scatter chart with three data series. Two of the data series are + and - tollerance bands and the thrid data series is the test points. The data displays in the graph but I only seem to be able to get

When editing a Word document you can choose to 'Overwrite the current minor version', but instead a new minor version is created. When i edit version 1.1 for instance, it does not overwrite

cht_Result.ChartAreas["ChartArea1"].AxisX.MinorGrid.LineDashStyle = ChartDashStyle.Dot;
cht_Result.ChartAreas["ChartArea1"].AxisX.MinorGrid.LineColor = Color.DarkBlue;
But the result are not what I expected, those gridlines seems to be dominated by Points in data series. for example, the 1st setup outcome will have X axis label for days, major gridline for days, minor gridline for 6 hours. Also the first label and major gridline are not at the origin, it is slightly apart from it.

Chart1.Series("Series1").XValueMember = "X"
Chart1.Series("Series1").YValueMembers = "Y"
Chart1.DataBind()
I would like to emulate the excel scatter chart which accepts this data in the "Series in: Columns" which groups all the similar x axis values and thus all the points are along the x axis grid lines. Please let me know how to achieve them using .NET 3.5 charting controls. Thanks in advance, Ranjith kumar GV
